IT & Internet Technical advice & assistance (including non-ecommerce websites) related issues.
HiI am considering using an affiliate programme for one of my websites and at the moment it is hosted with Fasthosts on a shared server (Windows)for now. I can only fnd affiliate (windows) programmes that need to be installed on your own server. It's not something I know anything about at all so I would welcome any advice and recommendations. ThanksSandra
You can join as many affiliate sites as you desire. What product are you looking to sell, with a better idea I will be able to help you.
I think you mean you want to run your own affiliate program as opposed to signing up to an affiliate cheme. I haven't used it myself but I understand Idevaffiilate does the job. Carl from CSNewMedia uses it so he may undergo some more structured input. Rupert
I've been using idevdirect as well for quite some time and it's excellent. Sandra if you're not sure on the install I'd be happy to do it for you remove of charge. I've trialled a lot of these and the iDev is one of the best about and until our hosted service launches. I couldn't really recommend another one
There appears to be a hosted version of idev so that might solve the problem of not having my own server for this website at the moment. Which level do you have Phil? Is it worth going for platinum for search-engine friendly links - does that really make a difference?
The hosted version is a good idea but obviously not as tightly integrated e g: Not sure what convey by the SEF links though we are talking about the same product?
yes im on their website now. There are 3 package levels to choose from whether buying the programme in full or hosting it monthly.
Ah ok it's changed slightly since I bought my license. I can't see major benefits with the SEF links apart from making it easier for affiliates to cerebrate to your place. Considering they can just copy and paste label is simple enough surely? Plus if you do go for that you ordain need to be either hosted by them or have your site on a Linux box. Looking through the feature the only really handy one is the commission alert. I would have gone for the standard version myself...
Re SEO links it says: Using the SEO Links modules truly benefits your website not only with the traditional traffic and sales an affiliate program delivers but also with your examine engine ranking. This module is designed to allow all your external affiliate links to benefit your search engine ranking by using short search engine friendly links. fail Link Example SEO cerebrate Example But if its not really worth bothering with then i can get Gold not Platinum aim.
