"HTC Touch Cruise Brings GPS and Official Wording" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-10-24 09:13:19

I’ve just heard of a mix from HTC that will not only make me happy but will also add some nice features in a much wanted smartphone: Touch as in TouchFLO interface for finger touch scrolling and Cruise as in GPS. The newest HTC Touch Cruise running on Windows Mobile 6 will be packing WiFi. Bluetooth a 3 megapixel camera microSD card slot to expand the built-in memory of 128MB and super fast HSDPA “3.5G”. This sounds very interesting and if you add the 2.8-inch 320 x 240 QVGA display a secondary 0.3 megapixel camera for video calls and navigation solutions (mapping) from TomTom I suppose so I guess you won’t make a bad decision if you want one. It should be available this month from retailers and SIM-free from HTC. Source: Related Posts:HTC announced the Touch Pro officially. "Managing Cell Phone Use by Children" posted by ~Ray

By: Christine Peppler Those with family cell phone plans know the concerns. Kids who text or talk so much they end the family budget. Kids who aren't aware of the dangers of spyware predators and spammers. Now with video phones that allow viewing of video and photos that could potentially be inappropriate and web enabled phones that provide access to any content on the web kids can easily be exposed to circumscribe parents might otherwise restrict. For Young ChildrenThere are options of course. For very young children there are the designed-for-kids phones desire Firefly and Tic Talk which inherently restrict who they can and cannot label and evaluate calls from numbers not in the phonebook programmed by parents. Certainly such phones are also not web enabled or video capable. The risk of exposure to inappropriate circumscribe is virtually eliminated. Options as Kids MatureDisney mobile cell phone plans also offer parents control over who their children call and how desire they talk. Beyond this the Disney phones furnish a GPS locator feature providing additional peace of mind. These phones are designed to appear more desire a traditional cell telecommunicate than the kid focused Firefly and are therefore preferable for many kids over age 7. For those not wanting to subscribe to a Disney plan there are other options. One product. RADAR made available by mymobilewatchdog com allows parents to develop an approved contact list monitor calls emails text and instant messages and even alerts parents to suspicious activity. The software for instance can warn adults to spyware that might be tracking an unsuspecting user. Another option is "Mobile Guardian" offered by Boston Communications Group (bcgi net) which allows parents to restrict when and who kids can call times they can call and the amount of time they can communicate. If desired parents can also block certain numbers and view a history of calls. Software solutions that can be used on any data enabled phone will certainly make managing the cell phone habits of teens easier for parents. For some parents the need to implement some of the same safeguards used on the home PC or laptop used by their tweens and teens ordain be equally important for their cell phone. RuleSpace is a company that is developing content filtering software for cell phones. Such software can read websites and filter out those deemed inappropriate. "The Closed US Cellular System is Cracking" posted by ~Ray

The Guardian has this juicy about how explore is in "secret" talks with British entrepreneur Simon Fuller (whose golden comprehend has turned the Spice Girls. Pop Idol and American Idol each into multi-billion dollar franchises) to work on some kind of Internet video go that competes with traditional television. Sources close to Fuller say it "could indoctrinate the way entertainment and music are distributed," on par with what Apple did to the music business. Clearly Fuller's populate are getting high on the possibilities of whatever it is. (Interactive online American Idol? Contestants vying for "Idol" status via user-generated videos? One big honking pop-music-social-media-video place that integrates every Web 2.0 gizmo available?) I don't evaluate however that whatever is under discussion will alter the way entertainment and music are distributed on the Internet. It's just that whenever explore comes calling these days it's so exciting that the possibilities seem endless. That much wealth cater and rock-star status combined with what has to be the world's largest concentration of genius-level employees is enough to alter any partner breathless. modify: Oh yeah another dishy dish the dirt: Google is of woebegone mobile carrier run. But it makes much more sense to me that Google would play around with content production than it would buy into the grubby demanding and these days highly competitive business of operating communications networks. Cynthia Brumfield at || Laura Holson has this today that explains it all. Silicon Valley is battling the top U. S mobile carriers while the iPhone has given consumers a tantalizing peek into what kind of cool applications they could have but for the slow-moving AT&T and Verizon Wireless. More intriguing to me is what T-Mobile has up its sleeve. The European-based carrier has a exceed intuitive comprehend of open mobile networks and has already stepped up to the coat. It will introduce an open standards-based telecommunicate based on Google's Android thingee (set of specs platform whatever you label it.) As the WSJ's Amol Sharma. T-Mobile has always been willing to break with industry orthodoxy in the U. S. T-Mobile also has a secret weapon barely mentioned when the affiliate's plans are discussed: it owns $4.2 billion in advanced broadband wireless spectrum in the U. S. having emerged as the top bidder in the important AWS auctions in 2006. Despite its third-ranked status. T-Mobile has enough firepower to roll out next-gen services in markets with a combined population of 475 million. Cynthia Brumfield at || Despite the oppressive restrictions on free speech in China which has resulted in high-profile imprisonment of journalists and online writers government officials are increasingly at a loss to stop bloggers from disseminating unsanctioned information. As a consequence. Chinese bloggers are getting bolder but not necessarily in the way you might expect. According to this Reuters some bloggers are starting to see bucks in their online posts but extortion or act upon and not traditional advertising be to be the basis of the business model. Although many citizen journalists continue to toil without compensation to show unpleasant facts of life in China some blogging opportunists are demanding hush money from government officials and local businesses in exchange for their silence. In a strange way it's kind of encouraging to see a nascent create of capitalist-like give for free speech in China change surface if it's all backwards. Being the stupid creatures that they usually are dogs undergo a tendency to disappear; while cats be to run away. There is a big difference between losing your way home just because you’re dumb and just faking it without showing any signs of experience. However if you still like your pet all nice and friendly the cellular dog finder aka PETSCELL might help you out the next time the beast is on the loose or just hangin’ on the porch and doing come up doggie things: The PetsCell is built with animal safety in mind and to that end guards against their habits. "No iPhone Data Plan on Cellular One?" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-04 06:27:05

Unfortunately the call center fellow (another "Erik") noted that since the iPhone isn't a CellOne phone they can't "furnish" it. Apparently CellOne does't use the EDGE find point cram (username password etc.) desire T-Mobile. Cingular before AT&T and some other GSM carriers. Instead they wirelessly put some software on the phone or something. I'm hunting for a way around this… if anyone has any suggestions or ideas gratify let me experience. modify: apparently the first customer function rep misinformed me. It's $45 for the unlimited data/text on the berry plan (with no furnish plans) not $25. The $25 function in the words of the second rep. "won't bring home the bacon very well with the kind of Internet on the iPhone." Whether she simply means "it's not intended for more than those dumb Motorola phones that have horrible little "Web-like" features on them" or "it flat out won't bring home the bacon" is comfort up for debate. For $45 (and a six-month contract with a $100 early cancellation fee) I evaluate I'll just act for AT&T's $20 plan when the buyout is end. Another rep later said it's provisioned simply by the cell phone number on the SIM - if the software's on your phone it should bring home the bacon but obviously with the iPhone there'd be no guarantee at all. I'm no IT professional and I understand that it's really hard to do but why can't all technology be compatible with everything? Why do iPhones need to be "unlocked?" I understand why but just don't understand why everything can't be compatible with everything. When my Verizon intend is up i hope the iPhone and the data plans will be a little cheaper and I ordain be able to afford it but if it's not then I'll opt for a "free" telecommunicate with a two year intend and wait again. *Sigh* Why c'mon now. You can't evaluate an industry to give to customers and common comprehend now can you?!?! Why that'd be silly people getting what they be and not being forced to jump through hoops to get even half of a solution! The official story is that Apple needed the carrier to alter some improvements to the communicate (think "visual voicemail") and wanted to set a good price ($20 data plans) so the only way they could kind of guarantee those things was to furnish the rights to one carrier. The five year pledge seems a bit lengthy to me though - why not a one-year head-start? Everyone would be locked in for two years anyway. $59.99 gets 450 minutes. 200 SMS unlimited data visual voicemail. 5000 nights and weekends rollover and unlimited mobile to mobile. That's not bad… Verizon's plans seem to go away at $79.99 for a similar case (albeit with unlimited nights and weekends but only "data find for email" (whatever that means)). The data plans are really quite cheap: $20 for unlimited data and 200 SMS (don't quote me on the 200). $59 gets 400 minutes and XHTML: You can use these tags: <a href="" title=""> <abbr call=""> <acronym title=""> <b> <blockquote have in mind=""> <code> <em> <i> <strike> <strong>
