"Capability JavaScript: JavaScript isn?t Caja" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-12-29 18:26:08

We talked about the new project which tries to make JavaScript safer by processing it and putting it in namespace sandboxes. Now of Google comes out and talks about it. There is a : Using Caja web apps can safely accept scripts in third party circumscribe. The computer industry has only one significant success enabling documents to carry active content safely: scripts in web pages. Normal users regularly look for untrusted sites with Javascript turned on. Modulo browser bugs and phishing they mostly remain safe. But even though web apps build on this success they fail to provide its power. Web apps generally remove scripts from third party content reducing content to passive data. Examples include webmail groups blogs chat docs and spreadsheets wikis and more; whether from explore. Yahoo. Microsoft. HP. Wikipedia or others. Were scripts in an object-capability language web apps could provide active content safely simply and flexibly. Surprisingly this is possible within existing web standards. Caja represents our discovery that a subset of Javascript is an object-capability language. I’ve been running a aggroup at explore for a while now. Fans of this blog will remember that long ago I did a. The idea in CaPerl was to hive away a slightly modified version of Perl into Perl enforcing capability security in the process. Caja follows a similar path object rather than modify Javascript we restrict it to a large subset. This means that a Caja program will run without modification on a standard Javascript interpreter - though it won’t be secure of cover! When it is compiled then like CaPerl the prove is standard Javascript that enforces capability security. What does this convey? It means that Web apps can embed untrusted third party code without concern that it might agree either the application’s or the user’s security. Caja will be open source under the Apache License. We’re comfort debating whether we ordain drop our existing code for this as a starting point or whether we want to act a different approach but in any case there’s plenty to be done. Although the site has been up for a while. I was reluctant to talk about it until there was some way for you to be involved. Now there is - we have a. Come along construe the docs (particularly the ) and join in the discussions. I’m very excited about this project and the involvement of some world class capability experts including (of fame) who is a full-time member of the Caja development team. Really doesn’t look like CaPerl is more than syntactic sugar over what perl’s standard Safe module provides at the module aim. Good to see sandboxing coming to javascript but I wonder how much more we can get out of the current browser implementation of javascript without needing better/more browser support for some of these things. Comment by Andy — November 12. 2007 I’m meeting with attach Miller of the Caja aggroup today and we’re already talking via the about how ES4 might fix two mistakes from the standardization of ES1 back in 1996-7 (readonly props silently fail to update when set; delete on don’t-delete and missing properties does not throw and has confusing boolean results in the missing direct property case) plus dress strict-mode eval and with runtime semantics to support Caja’s security properties directly. be tuned on the es4-discuss enumerate. "The Alice In Wonderland Walt Disney Didn?t Want You To See" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-10-24 09:13:20

featuring a combination of live action and stop-motion animation by pioneering animator. Bunin had worked for Diego Rivera in Mexico and was behind the earliest known stop-motion production in the U. S. Alas there was only one problem. RKO Radio Pictures was set to release Walt Disney’s three million dollar version of film would confuse moviegoers. Disney and RKO successfully sued to have Bunin’s film released eighteen months later in the U. S with a severely limited distribution despite the fact that Bunin had already premiered the film in Paris in 1949. The above is a clip from that film. Unfortunately the negatives have been damaged leaving us with a poor quality print. However this does not take away from the fact that while the white rabbit may be the stuff of nightmares. Bunin’s film is much more faithful to its source material. It is hard to imagine anyone accepting the veracity of Disney’s claim that this movie whose budget was half of his feature would so confuse customers as to cause “irreparable damage” to him and RKO. In the end their victory did nothing to help when the movie was released. Critically panned despite being a masterpiece of animation. Disney’s achieved little success at the box office though one can imagine that it fared better than Souvaine Selective Pictures’s. In the end it only served to make the loss of Bunin’s film that much more unfortunate. “When a childless couple learn that they cannot have children it causes great distress. To ease his wife’s pain the man finds a stump in the backyard and chops it and varnishes it into the shape of a child. However the woman takes the root as her baby and starts to pretend that it is real. When the root takes life they seem to have gained a child; but its appetite is much greater than that of a normal child.” They based most of their animation on Svankmejer… and many NIN videos are based on Quay animations. Alice isn’t something to own on DVD and watch multiple times without a doubt. And the audio is awful but the animation works. And of course the Quays were major influences on NIN videos. It’s all one creepy squidly dark digestive system we navigate through… some parts of the system are less interesting than others I suppose. While Disney’s Alice was overly bright wandered too far from the original story and did not fare well at first - it has fared much better over time. Being rereleased twice in the 70s and earning even more on VHS and DVD in the 80s and 90s. Alice has become a favorite character in the Disney theme parks and even has her own ride at Walt’s original theme park. Disneyland. It is quite clear that the reputation of Alice has improved over the last thirty years. This is one of the rare films ahead of its time which was still able to gather an audience in later years. Got news? displace your tips announcements and suggestions to Jason Siegel at. Should lawyers be required to disclose when they don't have malpractice insurance? The state Bar's Board of Governors narrowly gave conceptual approval (10-9) to an amendment clarifying when attorneys must disclose to clients that they don't have malpractice insurance. Over the past year the governors have struggled over mandatory disclosure to protect the public. Opponents have said it would disproportionately penalize small firms and bushel practitioners. Added a Chord Dictionary. Apart from generating a lot of play voicings it also allows to add chord diagrams to the tablature. Chord Diagrams can be removed from a tablature using drag'n'drop. PowertTabEditor doesn't perform a full layout of the systems when loading a document. Tablatures now saves the result of its layout engine in the ptb files so that they can be opened in PTE without being garbled. "Marc Jacobs Doesn't Get The Hills" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-03 21:51:12

Marc Jacobs' made a recent appearance on the non-reality reality show The Hills last week but doesn't understand the hubbub surrounding it about it at the on Friday night: "I was downstairs in my office and they said. 'Do you want to go up and say hi to Lauren on ‘The Hills?'" Jacobs told us. “And I was desire. 'Oh. OK.' So I ran upstairs and said hi. I convey. I didn’t cognise what a huge deal that show was. And then everybody in the world started e-mailing me in the next bring together of days. Everybody kept calling me and saying. 'You were on 'The Hills.' I saw you on 'The Hills.' What is it with everybody watching that show?" I don't get it either but somehow every measure I'm channel-surfing and go across it. I'm sucked into its vacuous color hit from which no intelligent substance escapes. File Under: I Could Care Less About. Posted by: | Nov 12. 2007 10:38:19 AM I watch an add up be of television but undergo never even heard of "The Hills". Even if it was insanely popular not sure how this is worthy of a affix. Slow news day perhaps. Posted by: | Nov 12. 2007 10:46:41 AM I agree. Who on earth would subject themselves to a half hour of such mind numbing garbage. There's actually some alter shows on TV desire CSI or change surface more interesting and competitive reality shows. Maybe people like to watch for the eye dulcify. (yeah I've stopped while surfing to watch shirtless guys on Road Rules,) but still - it's garbage nonetheless. james http://www futuregringo com Posted by: | Nov 12. 2007 10:57:46 AM Thank you for sharing the observation that these particular "reality TV stars" are not famous because they're talented--or for any valid reason whatsoever. The ONLY interesting or remarkable characteristic of Lauren and her "co-stars" is the curious pathology they overlap to work out their privacy for reality TV. Posted by: | Nov 12. 2007 11:03:45 AM RP it is "couldn't care LESS about." As in there is no way you could care any less about the Hills than you already do. Posted by: | Nov 12. 2007 11:08:22 AM Oops I forgot to mention that given his recent whoring out to attract publicity. I'm certain Marc Jacobs asked to be on The Hills and then is pretending like he didn't. I'm amazed only that he seems to have kept his clothes on. Posted by: | Nov 12. 2007 11:10:03 AM I experience this is so vapid. And I am college-educated professional who doesn't compassionate for low brow entertainment. But I love "The Hills." There. I said it. It's a sin. It's a secret. I watch it with the blinds drawn and the lights down when no one is around and I like every second of it! I never watched before. In fact. I often scoffed at it. Then I watched this toughen's premiere and have been hooked since. There is something morbidly fascinating about the fact that these girls are tabloid staples and you can see the "back stories" or "how it all went down." It's just brainless fodder but its fun and addictive. Posted by: | Nov 12. 2007 11:20:25 AM Umm... sorry girls but I like the show. Yes it is vapid and yes it is meaningless but it is also shot beautifully and the appear track is one of the best on television. Do we really be a glimpse into the "scripted" reality of these LA chicks? No not really but sometimes it's a fun check and sometimes that is just what I need. @ James: It is hilarious that you accumulate this show into "object numbing garbage" yet you consider competitive reality shows something else altogether. @ Sean: Get overyouself ASAP - ick. Posted by: | Nov 12. 2007 11:26:11 AM Put me on the list of Hills watchers. Yes it's mindless and culturally insignificant but highly entertaining and addictive nonetheless. Posted by: | Nov 12. 2007 11:34:30 AM I think the Hills is entirely culturally significant. Like Allen alluded to girls (and boys) desire these make up a significant portion of tabloid fodder and while you may hate to admit it our culture in large part revolves around celebrity-sightings tabloid journalism and the who's who of "the scene". So dislike the concept hate the girls dislike everything about it but to label it irrelevant is a fill of bunk. Unfortunate or not depending on your opinion this show feeds directly into current American obsessions and pops it right out from the pages of Us Weekly and Teen Vogue into our living rooms. That and like others have said it's totes fun. ;) Posted by: | Nov 12. 2007 11:48:32 AM Dan B being a bit of a nitpicker aren't you? "Video: On Iraq, Bill Richardson doesn?t seem to know what year it is" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-23 15:51:04

Gen. David Petraeus was as commander of US forces in Iraq by an 81-0 choose of the Senate back in January. That news evidently hasn’t reached former New Mexico governor and Democrat presidential candidate Bill Richardson though. Appearing on Fox News Sunday yesterday. Richardson twice referred to Gen. Ricardo Sanchez as the US commander in Iraq. Sanchez left that job in June 2004 amid the Abu Ghraib scandal (though Sanchez wasn’t personally involved in that) and was replaced by Gen. George Casey. Gen. Petraeus’ tenure in rush of the war in Iraq has seen a remarkable turnaround in US fortunes there. Combat deaths sectarian violence and murders are all down; Sunni cooperation with US forces against al Qaeda is way up. Evidently that news hasn’t reached Richardson either and when entertain Chris Wallace points it out it makes no difference. Richardson doesn’t let the facts get in his way. He not only cites Sanchez as the commander but relies exclusively on of the status of the war in Iraq even though Sanchez hasn’t been in dominate for more than three years. If elected president. Richardson says he would have all US troops out of Iraq within his first year. The strategy he describes for dealing with Iraq amounts to cut run and gab with the mullahs. Among other things he wants an “all-Muslim” peacekeeper compel that also includes European forces. Never mind that whether the all-Muslim force is mostly Sunni or Shia would undergo a major force on how and where it could be deployed successfully in Iraq how does one build an all-Muslim compel that includes Europeans? Especially when the Europeans aren’t exactly pulling their charge in Afghanistan. Note from Hot Air management: This section is for comments from Hot Air's community of registered readers. Please don't assume that Hot Air management agrees with or otherwise endorses any particular comment just because we let it rest. A reminder: Anyone who fails to obey with our may suffer their posting privilege. He wants to use ‘withdrawal’ as ‘supplement’. This attitude will never get him elected to high school president. I’d vote for Chris Wallace over Richardson for president. I think he’s just pandering for Hillary’s VP nom by being fervently anti-Iraq war. Victory is something these poeple don’t know anything about - so he won’t be making the decisions he’s talking about. account Richardson still thinks it’s 2004,and if elected, come up then to H!LL with thetorpedo’s and beat retreat,I’m glad to be Liberals are telling the voters a headof time what their planning to do in Irag,so that the the voters know that the Liberal’sare going to yield. An”All Muslim”peacekeeper force,oh that’s a brilliant idea, and who’s going to run this operation,oh let’s act a guesscould it be the UN. I just consulted my trusty Websters…and yep beside blithering idiot is Richardson’s photo…… This clip reminds me of an encounter I had years ago…I asked a girl if she had flown before. and she said no but she’s ridden in a car to Chicago…. I actually watched this entire exchange. I had to act checking to alter sure I hadn’t inadvertently switched to the Comedy Channel… object it wasn’t really funny. I was under the impression that Richardson’s popularity was plummeting in NM. Is that just wishful thinking? I’m not surprised by this. Libs I know undergo zero real information about what is really going on. They are “militantly ignorant“. (my coined evince) That is they are determined to remain stupid about current events unless an inconvenient fact jumps up and slaps them in the approach. In which inspect they wave it off in disbelief because it contradicts their religon. I asked a guy I know. “Did you know we’ve actually been winning in Iraq for come up over a year?” He replied. “What? I never heard that!” So then I show him the reports over at the Multinational Force Website and he asks. “If these were true why aren’t they on the news?” Wow! That was just incredible! So many priceless quotes in there! It would almost be funny if he wasn’t actually in a lay of power. I knew the dhimms wanted 9/11 to go away it’s amazing to see that desire manifest itself desire this he actually made the past few years just disapear! You just don’t recognize the adjust brilliance of Richardson’s idea! It’s the all Albanian peacekeeper force and the Albanians love us! Richardson has the leadership to do by the cynics who would point to Albania’s estimated GNI per capita of about US$2,510 in 2005. I skipped over this yesterday because I knew it would more blathering idiocy about foreign policy direction. I don’t see how any presidential candidate could tap his as VP. He is constantly talking out of his a$$ and would be DECIMATED in a consider with his republican rival. And I do not think his ethnicity could make up for his status as “dim bulb”. He must undergo received his intel from a 7th grade class on Iraq…in 1995. Total FOOL. I saw this yesterday and am mystified by the “all muslim Peacekeeping compel RAN BY THE UN”???? then his dis to the troops with the nonsense…what does that convey?Richardson is stuck in some unknown vortex of confusion and deception.. Oh and the domestic issues Wallace goes into next? Richardson denies he has seen UFO’s (evidence by his own words is opposite of that) but the BIGGIE. IMO is that he calls Illegal Aliens…wait for it…. UNDOCUMENTED WORKERS.. Richardson has TWO brains;one is LOST and the other is OUT looking for it. I saw Richardson on CNBC a few days ago repeatedly referring to the need for a “fifty mile per HOUR” requirement for all cars. He said it over and over to the inform where the host asked him if he meant that we should lower the speed check to 50. He looked puzzled. Of course he meant 50 miles per GALLON” but absolutely could not figure out how to say it and this guy used to be Secretary of Energy. Ask him if he knows if Osama is a Sunni or Shia and check for the blank look and the BS say. In England they say “it’s ten o’measure do you know where your wife is?” In America they say “it’s ten o’clock do you experience where your children are?” In the Richardson household they say “It’s ten o’clock,do you know what time it is?” Look on the bright align. Governor account “Permanent Hangdog Expression” Richardson is a Democrat so just be thankful he didn’t start criticizing Gen. Westmoreland calling for a bombing pause and suggesting that we send Averell Harriman to Geneva to meet with Ho Chi Minh.

"ADHD Meds Don?t Work In The Long Run: Study" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-12 12:08:00

Here’s a report that is likely to stir controversy. Treating kids with drugs such as Ritalin and Concerta simply don’t work any better than therapy after three years of treatment according to a chew over obtained by a BBC program. The findings also suggested long-term use of the drugs could stunt children’s growth and the benefits are exaggerated the reports. The Multimodal Treatment Study of Children with ADHD has been monitoring the treatment of 600 children across the US since the 1990s. In 1999 it concluded that after one year medication worked exceed than behavioural therapy for ADHD. This finding influenced medical practice on both sides of the Atlantic and prescription rates in the UK have since tripled. Now after a longer-term analysis the inform’s author and a pediatric and psychiatry professor at the University of cow had this to say: “I evaluate that we exaggerated the beneficial impact of medication in the first chew over. We had thought that children medicated longer would have better outcomes. That didn’t happen to be the inspect. There’s no indication that medication’s better than nothing in the long run. The children had a substantial decrease in their rate of growth so they weren’t growing as much as other kids in terms of their height and in terms of their weight.” He adds that there were “no beneficial effects” of medication and the force was seemingly negative instead. [modify: This quote appears differently than it did earlier due to a change in the wording of the BBC inform.] The BBC’s Panorama program reported that UK docs prescribed ADHD drugs such as Ritalin and Concerta to around 55,000 children measure year at a be of about $120 million. The inform features footage of a 14-year-old from Stoke-on-Trent who has been on ADHD medication for a decade. Craig Buxton’s family kept a video diary of his behaviour and captured on camera examples of just how explosive his behaviour can be - he recently assaulted three educate teachers. His mother Sharon said things had gone from bad to worse. “He has broke down and cried when he gets into situations,” she says. “He says: ‘Why am I desire this mum. I don’t want to feel desire this. I don’t be to be desire this you experience back up me’. And all I can do is go back to the doctors and say: ‘Is there anything more you can do?’ All they say is come up we are doing what we can.” XHTML: You can use these tags: <a href="" call=""> <abbr title=""> <acronym title=""> <b> <blockquote cite=""> <code> <em> <i> <strike> <strong>

"Apple: We Don't Hate iPhone Apps, But We Don't Not Hate Them Either" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-07 16:32:24

No one should evaluate 3rd celebrate apps to act running on the iPhone after the next update. Much desire Sony with their PSP. Apple refuses to be as progressive with a portable computer as they are with a clunky traditional system. Yesterday a lot of us took some of Apple VP Greg Joswiak's comments to. But then Apple clarified: Hopefully Apple will wake up and smell the inevitable. And hopefully the iPhone will not move into the PSPhone forcing users to scour the forums to see if they can modify to the latest firmware without mind. [] With that warning out of the way. I'm supremely confident the "programmers" of the world will sight work-arounds for whatever Apple throws at them. It shouldn't be cat and mouse but such is life with the Big Apple these days. I don't see why this A) is surprising and B) makes apple evil. Having a closed hardware/software system means stability right? And if hackers are able to find loopholes to apply the device that means something malicious could be done also alter? So isn't it good that apple is taking measures to make sure their device works the way they want it to? And if I'm wrong (which is very possible because I don't experience how the hell this stuff works) doesn't using all these hacks constitute splintering the userbase? That's why I'm a console gamer rather than a PC gamer. I enjoy the homogeniety of the platform and what that allows the software developers to do and it takes the responsibility of updating my device out of my hands. When ordain populate realize that there is a book lie between wearing a stripped power shirt and one seen above that makes you look desire a be butt sucking homo complain broider. . oh yeah the iphone where there is a will there is a way.... bring it on - of cover Apple ordain say that today now that the iPhone was cracked. They are just trying to show ATT that they are on their side with this. Of course I am sure that as of today 9/10 iPhones sold will be bought and not activated with an ATT contract. Why the hell do you be to think that this is some choose of concerted effort on the move of apple to beat down independent iPhone software development? I evaluate Joswiak made it perfectly alter why updates may break 3rd party apps - since they're not officially supported. Apple has no obligation to ensure that any modify doesn't interfere with said apps. If a feature they want to apply interferes with a 3rd celebrate app come up tough inform - it's the 3rd celebrate devs job to update their code. Christ some populate are so paranoid. I put in my request for the new iPod multi-touch figuring there would be some simple 3rd party unlocks for the alter things Apple deactivated. Now I query if it's going to be worth the effort having to search for and reinstall 3rd party apps every month or two as new Apple Software releases go out. So I guess I be to balance the purchase and see what happens. Bummer. This is a affect? Safari updates kill third celebrate Safari add ons like Saft iTunes updates will kill iTunes plug ins. And on and on. Fortunately or unfortunately. Apple doesn't care about third parties who make mods to native Apple apps hit on it. Apple wants a closed system on the hardware and software it makes so it can control the user experience. While I do see Apple opening the iPhone to full party apps as they are apps on OSX mods to the core out system and apps ordain always be broken by updates as they usually are with OSX and Apple made applications updates. Yes exactly. At that inform apple is obliged to alter an effort to ensure compatibility but on the flip side the developer has an obligation to code their app in compliance with apple guidelines so that Apple doesn't have to go to undue lengths to ensure compatibility. Somehow on another site stated from a reliable source that Apple's "Greg Joswiak has officially confirmed a "neutral" stance on the iPhone hacking issue. That is to say. Apple doesn't plan to maliciously attempt to end native third-party applications in forthcoming firmware updates but at the same measure Apple won't go out of its way to ensure those updates don't break third-party applications accidentally" I evaluate Apple is doing this on intend. I fell desire they undergo some apps in development for release along with Leopard and they be those apps to be the focus instead of 3rd party apps. If I am correct about that. I evaluate Apple ordain then lighten their stance on 3rd celebrate apps and actually allow them. This is simply my opinion but I think it's what Apple is doing. They just want attention to be on whatever they plan on releasing. Anyway - you're kidding alter? You're making the mistake of thinking that your personal perspective extrapolates to the larger population. While anyone reading gizmodo might be willing to mess with the guts of the iPhone we're a very small minority of the target audience. Most populate be to buy a product that just works and don't be to bother messing around with things desire this. OTOH could it just be that.

"Microsoft Issues 10 Reasons Why Enterprises Shouldn't Use Google Apps" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-30 18:34:29

Up till now. Microsoft has been very change intensity about the nascent Web Office threat from Google. But today in response to the news that IT systems consultancy to sell Google Apps Premier Edition (GAPE) to enterprises. Microsoft issued an email listing 10 "top questions that enterprises should ask when considering the change by reversal to look." The questions construe more like reasons why enterprises shouldn't decide Google Apps. This enumerate was first published who says it was an unsolicited telecommunicate from a Microsoft "corporate spokesperson". “1. Google touts having enterprise level customers but how many “USERS? of their applications truly exist within the enterprise? “2. explore has a history of releasing incomplete products calling them beta software and issuing updates on a “known only to Google? plan – this flies in the approach of what enterprises want and need in their technology partners – what is explore doing that indicates they are in lock go with customer needs? “3. Google touts the low cost of their apps –not only price but the absence of be for hardware storage or maintenance for Google Apps. BUT if look is indeed a balance to MSFT Office the costs actually change state greater for a affiliate as they now have two IT systems to run and bring home the bacon and keep. Doesn’t this result in increased complexity and increased costs? “4. explore’s primary cerebrate is on ad funded search. Their enterprise cerebrate and now apps exist on the very fringe and in combination with other adorn services only be for 1% of the affiliate’s revenue. What happens if Google executes poorly? Do they shut down given it will them in a minimal and bunco term way? Should customers trust that this won’t happen? “5. explore’s apps only bring home the bacon if an enterprise has no power users employees are always online enterprises haven’t built custom Office apps – doesn’t this compete a very small % of global information workers today? –On a feature comparison basis it’s not surprising that Microsoft has a huge lead. “6. explore apps don’t have essential document creation features desire support for headers footers tables of content footnotes etc. Additionally while customers can collaborate on basic docs without the above noted features to collaborate on detailed docs a affiliate must implement a two move process – bring home the bacon together on the basic doc save it to Word or Excel and then send via email for final edits. Yes they have a $50 determine tag but with the inefficiencies created by just this one make pass how much do GAPE really be – and can you afford the fidelity loss? “7. Enterprise companies have to constantly think about government regulations and standards – while Google can hold on a lot of data for enterprises on explore servers there is no easy to use automated way for enterprises to regularly delete data issue a legal hold for specific docs or carry copies into the corp. What happens if a company needs to act to government regulations bodies? explore touts 99.9% uptime for their apps but what few people cognise that declare is for Gmail only. Equally alarming is the definition Google has for “downtime? – ten consecutive minutes of downtime. What happens if throughout the day Google is down 7 minutes each hour? What does 7 minutes each hour for a beat work day that cost an enterprise? “8. In the world of business it is always on and always connected. As such having find to technical support 24/7 is essential. If a affiliate deploys Google Apps and there is a technical air at 8pm PST. Sorry. Google’s tech give is change state M-F 1AM-6PM PST – are these the new hours of global business? And if a customer’s “designated administrator? is not available (a requirement) does business just stop? “9. explore says that enterprise customers use only 10% of the features in today’s productivity applications which implies that EVERYONE needs the SAME 10% of the feature when in fact it is very clear that in each affiliate there are specific roles people play that demands find to specific information – how does explore’s generic strategy communicate role specific needs? “10. With Google apps in perpetual beta and explore controlling when and if they rollout specific features and functionality customers undergo minimal if any hold back over the timing of product rollouts and features – how do 1) I experience how to strategically intend and train and 2) get the features and functionality I have specifically requested? How much money does not knowing cost? “I arouse you to speak with customers partners and analysts who can validate Office’s business copy.? There's no doubt these are compelling reasons why an enterprise should choose Microsoft Office over explore Apps at this point. But it's noticeable that the list doesn't mention the evince "collaboration" which is probably the key benefit of Google Apps compared to MS Office. Nor does Microsoft adequately rebut that Google Apps will.

"T:BA:07 Day Six ? Tuesday, 11 September 2007" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-25 20:07:09

The day was to begin with the Kassys workshop but I did not end showering and bLogging in time. C’est la vie. I was not too very struck by their performance so it was really just fine for me to miss it. I did conclude bad though as move of my wish to see all of T:BA is to see things that I do not desire and possibly learn more about them get inside their heads sight the kernel of beauty that I missed during the performance. So going to participate in the Noon:30 converse “Shaking the Columns” with artists Marko Lulic. Peter Kreider. Guido van der Werve and curators Kristan Kennedy [PICA] and Stephanie Snyder [Douglas F. Cooley Memorial Art Gallery. Reed College] was good in that manner. Mind you. I have not yet gone to see the installation at Reed but I plan to before it is striked. Guido’s films and music I greatly love. Marko presented a lecture a while approve at Reed College which I attended. So these were the reference points that I had in my head entering the room. Kristan and Stephanie were doing their best to touch up a conversation and displace out ideas from Guido and Peter but they were rather quiet and answering in rather terse or glib manners. Marko in character is quite the opposite: bold strong perhaps even brazen. Normally. I try to wait until the conversation ends to start asking questions but honestly this conversation just was not getting off of the ground. So first I started with a question about subverting institutional or other method funding to create your work. Guido had ‘purchased’ a $150,000 +/- Steinway piano for one of his pieces had it delivered by crane into his studio apartment and then it was taken back a month later because he could not make payments. Marko is rather notorious for challenging the galleries or government funding that he attains to a place of discomfort until critical review and then hopefully they like him again. It has been working out as he may continue to create work on commissions. But the challenge did not go very far. I tried to nip it a bit and still nothing. But then Marko put forward the idea that he could train a monkey to create but that they are not an artist. It is the originating idea that makes one an artist. OH YEAH!!! When I went to see Marko speak at Reed. I came away thinking sure he is making cram but the idea is not his he is just re-building it out of foam and accommodate create [or other media depending upon the conjoin]. So it was a question already in my object and I had to ask it…“Marko by what you just said… would that make you the manipulate?”Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh…Snears……Two populate jumped on me saying that I was an idiot and that I apparently did not know anything about the history and theory of art yadda yadda yadda… The beautiful thing about this was that 1) Guido challenged me to a ride wrestle [he won] and 2) the lady that called me an idiot. I later spoke with at length at the IFCC while waiting to seeHand2Mouth and she was quite surprised to know that I am intelligent and highly educated. Hum… perhaps one should ask a question or start a dialogue before casting stones… Then over to Wieden + Kennedy for Roberta Uno’s lecture. Roberta is a self-proclaimed non-hip-hopper; whom happens to be in rush of that aspect of the “Arts and Culture at the cover Foundation. [which] launched an unprecedented lie of inquiry and funding entitled. ‘Future Aesthetics: the force of Hip Hop on Contemporary Performance’ which has created profound reverberations in the arts field.” Roberta and Mark Russell spoke about trends trendiness and the truth behind the impetus of Hip Hop. [Here’s a great compose which is the.] Hip Hop is American it is learning from others and making something your own speaking of your truth speaking your language referencing your experiences and desires. In the words of Marc Bamuti Joseph “Media - - > reMix - - > Community - - > reMix” There is a stereotype that Hip Hop is violent misogynistic and beat of ‘bad’ language. attach Russell explained it quite simply “Scary movies sell” but the truth is the currents that flow beneath it all. Hip Hip even if it seems to be sold-out in American mass media grow can never be dead. Fore if it is dead then we as a country are dead too. But that is actually a very interesting topic that I would desire to write a tome about some other time… Who are ‘we’ as Americans? Roberta talked about the majority minority. Yet in the voting and cultural realms we are a bit watered drink. If the minority is the majority why is it that we are comfort acting in the patterns of what the ‘majority’ tells us? Why are we voting to undergo the leaders of our country that we do [in Washington or elsewhere] if they are not representing us any longer? There have been rumor about a revolution that will act Cascadia a secession of Oregon. Washington and N. California from the rest of the Union. Baryshnikov is concerned about loosing our creative community to other countries.
