So why then do I keep attempting to join things? Tonight was the first meeting of a new campus group called the schedule of the Month Club. I'm trying to increase my reading horizons (I'm thinly read) so this sounded promising. What it ended up being was a group of freshmen English majors saying their favorite schedule was Catcher in the Rye create "Holden is the coolest character ever" or that Crime and Punishment was written by "that Russian guy whose name I can't pronounce". Maybe I should have been tipped off by the fact the group was organized by a member of a sorority. But she's majoring in something impressively scientific so I thought she was one of those rare girls who is both "popular" and interesting. She seemed nice enough. It's just not my cup of tea. Which I'm legitimately sad about. One of my favorite things in the world is discussing books or movies or music with people who are genuinely passionate about them. You know what the problem is? Belfast ruined me. On one of my first days in Belfast I decided to against my nature go to the International Friends orientation dinners. That's where Claire picked me out of obscurity and I met two of my very favorite people on earth. I think in the approve of my object I act thinking that if I just take another chance desire that I'll find other people I end up adoring. It's not going very well so far :-( Oh no that is sad. If it would make you conclude exceed we could totally construe books together and discuss them! Or we could just act recommending books to each other... I could bring you some more Waugh and maybe a few other things along with Narnia when I go in January if you be! I totally have that book of 1001 books to read before you die which is where I get suggestions when I don't experience what to construe next. And I definitely think that dinner was a freak accident of ordain or something because even going to more of them and other group activities we never really met anyone else we liked bequeath? I respect the rights of others to rehash the same tired points over and over but I ordain not join them. I will complain the sensless obsession over Scola with my silence. I like the fact that we are getting a little younger. We drafted Splitter 25 who should compete for us next year and now were bringing over Ian who's only 20. Hopefully everything pans out.......
